The GCSE English Language tuition content consists of critically studying, comparing and contrasting literary texts from the nineteenth – twentieth century.  Students will also have to produce creative and opinionated essay writing.

GCSE English Literature will cover a variety of nineteenth century and twentieth novella and novels.  Students will also study an anthology of poetry in the love and relationship and power and conflict category and will be examined on poetry they have seen and studied + unseen poetry.

How It's Done

The online tuition process would be interactive and conducted using a laptop or desktop computer.  All teaching resources would be shared with the student and this would include the use of Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF’s documents and PowerPoint presentations.  YouTube would also be utilised as a regular learning medium.

Capture

Students who participate in online tuition have the added advantage of recapturing images by taking a photo of a document on their smartphone.  Handouts or instructions to assist with their tuition are used as an aid to complete homework tasks.  The session is also recorded for recap purposes.

1 to 1 Tuition

Face to Face or 1 to 1 tuition is the most common practice in private tuition and some students quite naturally, prefer this method of tutoring as they prefer that in person interaction.  They get the added benefit of following YouTube videos etc.  via a television monitor linked to a laptop so the content is projected to the TV screen.

Resources

Technology i.e. desktop computers, mobile hard drives etc. are very good tools for saving/retaining/securing teaching resources etc. for re-use in future tuition sessions.  Documents, PDF’s PowerPoint presentations etc. can be stored, retrieved and then emailed to students before the planned tuition session.
